I came across Sara Bareilles' latest album, Kaleidoscope Heart, today and like Christina Perri's Lovestrong. I wish I would have come across it earlier. I have been a fan of Sara's for a while now, and loved her first album, Little Voice, but this most recent album really speaks to me. Her songs contain the most beautiful lyrics of love and loss, of healing and regret. Her voice executes her lyrics with power and passion, her sound dripping with emotion. The piano heavy background adds a soulful romance to her singing. In my opinion, all of these elements combined make this album nothing less than perfection.
A lot of people tell me that time heals everything. I like to tell myself time heals almost everything, and that music heals the rest. This is just one of those albums that is comfort food for the soul, and a refuge for those with heavy and haggard hearts.
