So I realize i've been on a like 2 month hiatus, and I apologize. Life has been really really crazy lately. I got a freelance job with Macy's Merchandising Group doing Kid's Product Development which was only supposed to be a three week gig, but, low and behold they have not told me to not come back yet so i'm just going to keep showing up haha. I love the job, I do a bunch of odds and ends for the product development team but the people are nice and Macy's is a great company to work for (I know, all of my fellow Chicagoans are cringing to hear me say that). I also work at The Met on the weekends still, so yes folks, that makes it a 7 day work week for me....it's exhausting and no human should ever have to work every single day but it is definitely nice to have money come in.
Speaking of The Met, we just opened our new Islamic wing!! The decor and layout of the wing itself is breathtaking but of course the objects and artifacts inside are what inspires me the most. The new wing includes everything from persian rugs, glass blown lamps from Egypt and Syria, and beautiful examples if middle eastern tile work. If you are live in NYC or are visiting this new wing at The Metropolitan Museum of Art is a must see!!
Keep Living and Loving,
Beth
